The TODAY Show Comes to Stamford!

So we have some big news to share. News so big it makes me giddy just to write about it. After all, it’s not everyday that a national news program comes to the city of Stamford to cover a local fitness facility. A facility, I should mention, that is owned and operated by a city native who happens to be an entrepreneur with some very big dreams.
Yes, it’s true, the TODAY show is coming to Stamford to make a stop at Carozza Fitness to film a segment on the importance and benefits of strongman training for women. They’ll be here bright and early on Tuesday and will be bringing along weekend co-anchor Jenna Wolfe. They’re going to film one of our classes as we flip tires, lift stones, and traipse across the monkey bars. Good times for sure.
Now what’s the story here? In my opinion, there are several. For starters, as a woman and a trainer, I’m quite pleased that these types of workouts are getting national coverage. They’re fun, effective and produce maximum results in minimal amount of time. I mean, find me a woman who isn’t looking to kill multiple birds with one stone. Case closed.
Secondly, I’m hopeful that this segment will teach women that these workouts produce psychological benefits that extend way beyond that of a calorie burn. I should know, as I’m currently riding a high after test driving the series of exercises that we’re going to take the clients through for the taping. Sure it was physically exhausting, but it was the mental focus and determination that was required that made the workout complete. After all, every time you think you can’t and you do, you redefine what it means to be strong.
But, there’s another angle here that deserves a mention, and that’s the fact that securing this national coverage is just one of many milestones that our owner, Michael (the Carozza of Carozza Fitness), has achieved all before celebrating his first anniversary in the facility we now call our home. This is a guy with big expectations – for his clients, for his employees and clearly for himself. By leading by example, he has taught many of us the importance of constantly setting goals and raising the bar.
So, please forgive me if I say I’m proud to be a part of Carozza Fitness. Fueled by a leader with an endless supply of energy, we’re nothing but passionate about what we do. The opportunity to share our message on a bigger stage is a blessing to us. And that message – which speaks volumes with just two little words – is BE STRONG.
